Rug Cleaning London | Wool, Persian & Silk Rugs Cleaners

Professional rug cleaning for wool, Persian, oriental, silk and synthetic rugs across London. Fully insured, safe for children and pets, backed by our 24-hour satisfaction guarantee.

Your rug is not the same as your carpet, and it should not be cleaned like one. Different fibres, backings, dyes and constructions each need a different approach, and the wrong method is how rugs end up shrunk, faded or left with dyes that have bled into one another.

Pro Carpet Cleaning London has cleaned rugs for homes and businesses across the capital since 2016. Every rug is inspected and treated on its own terms, from hard-wearing synthetic runners to delicate wool and hand-knotted pieces, so it comes back fresh, bright and safe to walk on.

Rug Types We Clean in London

Wool rugs

Wool rugs

Natural wool needs gentle, low-moisture handling to avoid shrinkage and colour loss. We clean wool safely for a soft, revived finish.

Silk and viscose rugs

Silk and viscose rugs

Delicate, dye-sensitive fibres that can be damaged by standard carpet cleaning. These are handled with the caution they need, or assessed for specialist cleaning where appropriate.

Persian and oriental rugs

Persian and oriental rugs

Hand-knotted and traditional rugs are cleaned with careful, fibre-appropriate methods that protect their dyes, patterns and value.

Synthetic rugs

Synthetic rugs

Polypropylene, nylon and polyester rugs are hard-wearing and respond well to a thorough deep clean.

Shaggy and high-pile rugs

Shaggy and high-pile rugs

Deep pile that traps dirt and dust needs proper agitation and extraction to clean right down to the base.

Handmade, antique and modern rugs

Handmade, antique and modern rugs

Whatever the age or origin, each piece is treated individually, never with a one-size-fits-all machine pass.

Our Rug Cleaning Process

We identify the fibre type, check the dyes for stability and colourfastness, and note any stains, wear or weak areas before we begin.

Most of the weight in a dirty rug is dry soil. We thoroughly remove it first, because trying to wash a rug full of dry grit only turns it to mud in the pile.

Stains and heavily soiled areas are treated by hand with the correct solution for the fibre and the stain.

Using hot water extraction or gentle low-moisture cleaning, matched to your rug, we lift the dirt, allergens and bacteria bound into the fibres.

The pile is groomed and the rug is dried carefully so it returns soft, fresh and ready to use.

Carpets in our 2-bed flat were really bad from previous tenants. They did hot water extraction and stains were gone. Took about 2 hours to dry. Smells fresh now and they wore shoe covers. Happy with the result.

Booked them for our office in Dalston on a Saturday so it wouldn’t disrupt work. They moved chairs and desks, cleaned around cables and used air movers so it dried fast. Quote was clear with no hidden extras. Already recommended them to 2 other businesses on our floor.

Got our lounge and stairs done. There were old wine stains that I thought were permanent. Most came out and the carpet looks so much brighter. Dried in about 5 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Rug cleaning is priced on size, fibre type and condition. Send us a few photos and the rough dimensions and we will give you a fixed quote upfront, with no hidden charges.

Most rugs are dry within 6 to 12 hours, depending on the fibre, thickness and how well the room is ventilated. Thicker wool and high-pile rugs take longer than flat synthetic rugs.

Yes. We clean wool, Persian, oriental, silk, viscose and synthetic rugs. Delicate and dye-sensitive fibres are assessed individually and cleaned with a gentle, fibre-appropriate method to protect the pile and colours.

Most wool and synthetic rugs are cleaned in your home. Delicate, antique or heavily soiled rugs may be better cleaned off-site, and we will advise the best option when you send photos.

Yes. Our solutions are non-toxic, eco-friendly where possible and safe for children and pets, with no harsh residue left behind. Rugs are safe to use again once dry.

We treat most pet stains and odours, working the correct solution into the affected area. Very old or set-in stains cannot always be fully removed, and we will tell you honestly what to expect after inspecting the rug.

For most homes, once every 12 to 18 months keeps a rug fresh and protects the fibres. Rugs in high-traffic areas, or homes with pets and children, benefit from more frequent cleaning.

No. Avoid scrubbing and household cleaners, which can set the stain or damage the fibres. Blot gently to lift excess, then contact us to assess and treat it properly.

Yes. We cover all London postcodes and the areas inside the M25, 7 days a week, with evening and weekend appointments available.
